We started our day off with a big breakfast at our hotel. All of the ingredients were fresh and cooked to order.
After breakfast, Pim and her husband picked us up in a small, open- windowed red bus. Our cousin told us about Pim and she took us around to some of the sights of Chiang Mai. Our first stop today was Bhubing Palace. To get there you have to drive up a bunch of winding roads! Luckily I did not get car sick because Pim's husband was a good driver!
Then we went to Doi Suthep, a temple that is known for having the most famous monk in Chiang Mai. To get to the temple, you have to climb 100+ steps.
On our way down from the temple there were a bunch of little kids posing and asking for money. The only words they knew in english were hello, camera and money. They were precious until I realized the little girl was huggin me and trying to stick her hand in my purse. Check out the little boy trying to feel Adam's pockets. They were sly. No worries all of our money was zipped up but I am still in shock at how smart they were and how they almost pulled a fast one on us!
Pim and her husband then took us to this quaint restaurant for lunch. We ordered the Chiang Mai specialty, egg noodles with chicken! I loved it and can't wait to eat it again!
Before going to the Sunday market, we got a massage...a one hour massage here costs $6!!! Then we went to the market which is always fun! I think Adam is "marketed" out and frustrated with me because I look at every stall and buy nothing! After eating mango sticky rice, a banana waffle with chocolate sauce and spring rolls, we decided not go to dinner. However I was still hungry so we went to McDonald's and got some fries! This is what we found outside of McD's...only in Thailand!
