Day 4 Bangkok

We had another exciting day here in Bangkok! We got the ultimate tour from my grandma's friend's sister, "O". It was really neat to see the city with someone who lives here and speaks English! We started our day by visiting Vimanmek Palace! This was King Rama V's palace that he built for himself 100 years ago. It was a great change to actually see the majesty's place versus seeing a big Buddah that they pray too! The picture below is of me and "O" outside the palace. No pictures were allowed inside the palace.

O took us to an awesome noodle shop for lunch. It is literally a hole in the wall with no air conditioning. We loved it and felt like we were really part of the Thai community!

Then we went to the flower market and Chinatown! Chinatown was unbelievable-I have never seen one this big! O and Adam got a freshly squeezed pomegranate juice which was delish!

We went to Chatuchak market after Chinatown. This is one of the largest markets here. I still cannot believe that I did not fine anything. I was too overwhelmed with all the stuff and I am too indecisive!

We finished the day off at a fabulous gastropub, Hyde and Seek. We got there at 6:30p and the only available seating was at the bar. Their specialty drinks were phenomenal as well as the food. We ordered salmon topped with asparagus and covered with some kind of foam (edible of course). I am not sure how to explain it but it was genius and made the salmon taste very light and airy! We are off to Chiang Mai today!
